In this latest version, the SINI menu is divided into two main tools: Site Selection and Site Analysis. These features are designed to make location analysis easier and more structured, starting from a macro-level view and moving into micro-level details, so you can evaluate whether an area is suitable and optimal for your business needs.
This combination of Macro and Hyperlocal Analysis ensures that you can assess both the big picture and the finer details, supporting more informed and strategic location-based decisions.
Before moving further, how can you access Site Selection and Site Analysis?
The Site Selection feature (formerly known as INSIGHT) is a tool designed to assist in efficiently analyzing location data. With Site Selection, you can make better business decisions, such as determining the right location for expansion or understanding the market you wish to target.
By using Site Selection, you can quickly and easily perform an analysis. Simply select a few relevant business parameters or indicators, and you will receive location data analysis almost instantly. This process saves time and allows you to make better decisions based on accurate and up-to-date information. Here is a sample result generated from Site Selection.
Let's explore how Site Selection from GEO MAPID can support your business strategy and help you achieve your goals!
To make it easier for you, let's assume we are looking for a potential area suitable for opening a Copy Shop. As mentioned earlier, to perform Site Selection, you need to prepare parameters that are likely to influence your needs, both from Points of Interest (POI) and Demographics (the current version only includes these two parameters and stay tuned for future updates to enrich your analysis). For example, you might use services, education, and trade & retail for the POI parameters. For demographic parameters, you could consider total population, age range from 10 to 44, and education levels from elementary school (SD) to doctoral (S3).
Okay, the first step is to open the Map Editor, where you will find the right-hand sidebar as shown above. From there, you will see several configuration options, as outlined below:
1. Search Location
You can search for a location directly or select a location based on administrative levels down to the village level.
2. Set Grid
You can configure the site selection grid as either square or hexagon and set the grid size in meters. Options include 500 meters, 1000 meters, or a size adjusted to the selected administrative level.
3. Formula
In the formula section, you can define your own parameters or use a Template (either from MAPID or based on the parameters you set earlier). You can also try the latest technology, AI, where you simply provide a prompt, and the AI will determine the POI and Demographic parameter configurations, including their characteristics, weights, and whether each parameter positively or negatively affects the final result.
Let's start by selecting a location in Cimahi City to find the optimal spot for the copy shop.
Next, set the grid. In this case, the selected grid is hexagon with a grid size of 500 meters to view a more detailed distribution of the area based on POI and Demographic information.
Next, you will be directed to choose and configure the parameters to be implemented for finding the optimal location for the copy shop. Choose the POI theme to be used by clicking ALL to select all themes, or choose according to your needs from the available POI options. The fullscreen button is also available for more specific options. The General Category below represents general data, so the amount of data generated will be very large when uploaded.
Alternatively, you can look at Subcategory and Specific Entity, which are derived from the General Category data, allowing users to refine the data as needed. There is a Search column and Filter button to assist in the data filtering process. After filling in the parameters, you can click Next or the X button to proceed.
In this case, we will select several parameters from the General Category, namely Services, Education, and Trade and Retail.
Next, the following parameter to define is Demographics, with the selected components being total population, age range from 10 to 44, and education levels from elementary school (SD) to doctoral (S3).
You can save this as a formula template so that in the future, you can use it again to find an optimal location with the same formula.
Once everything is set, run the process, and you will see a progress bar like this:
You will see the grid distribution of areas ranging from unsuitable to highly suitable. In this case, there are several priority areas that can be analyzed further (Hyperlocal Analysis / Micro Analysis) using Site Analysis powered by SINI AI. As shown in the image below, there are several potential locations for opening a new copy shop in Cimahi City. If you want to reconfigure any parameters—adding or removing them—you can simply make the changes and run the process.
Save the layer from this Site Selection so it can be analyzed further.
This is how the Macro Analysis generates several “gold areas.” Of course, these “gold areas” need to be reviewed further using Site Analysis. But before moving on to the next analysis, you can explore AI in Site Selection first. Simply type a prompt, and the parameters will be automatically defined.
After that, run the process, and you will see potential areas that may be relevant to your needs.
Have you ever wondered how Artificial Intelligence can simplify the mapping process? Let's explore how Site Analysis powered by SINI AI in GEO MAPID can provide innovative solutions for your mapping needs.
The Site Analysis powered by SINI AI feature in GEO MAPID allows you to manage and analyze data on layers more effectively. Site Analysis powered by SINI AI not only provides data analysis solutions but also in-depth visualizations of the locations you're researching, helping you understand the potential and characteristics of that area.
As an example, after performing site selection for opening a photocopy shop in Bandung, you have identified several potential locations with hexagonal grids. These locations have been selected based on certain criteria, including proximity to services, education, and commercial or retail areas.
Now, it's time to analyze these locations more thoroughly using Site Analysis powered by SINI AI. Simply, you just need to click the "Click on map" button, and various information will appear for the selected location or grid.
You can turn off the grid layer while scrolling to the bottom layer to focus on the grid area that will be analyzed in more detail.
Now, you can focus and view several detailed pieces of information below. Let’s go through the points below,
1. Demographics:
The demographic data around the selected photocopy shop area will provide a detailed picture of the population, including age, gender, marital status, and employment. This is important because for a photocopy business, locations near schools, universities, and offices typically have high customer potential. You can further analyze the dominant age group (whether young people or working professionals) who typically require photocopying services regularly.
2. Point of Interest (POI)
After performing the site selection, POI (Points of Interest) such as universities, retail stores, companies, and public facilities will appear around the selected locations. These POIs show the level of foot traffic and the potential for customers who may pass by the photocopy shop. For a photocopy business, the presence of shopping centers, cafes, restaurants, and universities is very advantageous as they attract a lot of people who may need photocopying services.
3. Disaster Risks
The Site Analysis powered by SINI AI feature also allows you to understand the disaster risk level at your chosen location. By using current data on the potential for disasters such as floods, earthquakes, or landslides, you can assess whether the selected photocopy shop area is vulnerable to natural disasters. This is important for long-term planning to ensure that your business can withstand and continue operating even during disruptions. Stay tuned for the upcoming update with more accurate and representative data.
4. Healthcare, Education, and Transportation Facilities
If your selected location is near healthcare facilities, schools, or public transportation, this is a plus. Healthcare facilities ensure that there is potential clientele from the medical sector or the general public who need photocopying services for medical documentation. Schools and universities are key sources of customers for photocopying businesses, as students and educational staff often need these services for assignments and administrative tasks. Easily accessible public transport will increase the likelihood of customers visiting your photocopy shop.
5. Land Prices
Site Analysis powered by SINI AI also provides information on land prices around the selected location. With this feature, you can easily access the current land prices without having to visit the site directly. This helps you make smarter decisions about whether the investment cost for the location aligns with the potential profits from the photocopy business.
6. People Spending
The Site Analysis powered by SINI AI feature will provide insights into the population's expenditure per person in the surrounding area. By understanding the consumption patterns of the local population, you can determine whether they have the purchasing power to use photocopying services. This will also help you plan pricing strategies that are more targeted for different customer segments.
7. Isochron Analysis
One of the interesting features is isochron analysis, which shows the reach time and duration to reach the photocopy shop location from a reference point (such as a train station or shopping center). This feature is crucial to ensure that the location you choose is easily accessible to many people within a reasonable amount of time. The faster customers can access the location, the higher the potential for them to visit.
8. Conversation with SINI AI
The Start Chat feature allows you to ask questions regarding the selected photocopy shop location. For instance, you could ask, "What factors influence the market potential for a photocopy shop in this area? Are there other factors to consider when choosing the ideal location?"In no time, SINI AI will provide relevant and informative answers, helping you gain deeper insights without having to manually search for information.
9. Previously Used Locations (History Shortcut)
You can also access the history of locations you've analyzed previously. With the Site Analysis powered by SINI AI feature, you can revisit the data you've collected and further explore other areas that might also be potential candidates for your photocopy business.
